The dairy industry is a key socio-economic enterprise in Kenya contributing an estimated 42%, 12%, and 4% of the livestock, agricultural, and national GDPs. Dairy is a source of an estimated 750,000 indirect and 500,000 direct jobs. The industry also contributes significantly to National Food Security and Nutrition and a big contributor to the Government Key Economic Pillars.

In order to support the Dairy Subsector, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives has developed the Dairy Industry Regulations, 2020 to support the implementation of the Dairy Industry Act, Cap 336 of the Laws of Kenya and the National Dairy Development Policy.

In the spirit of public participation as envisaged in the Constitution of Kenya,2010, the Ministry hereby invites all stakeholders in the dairy industry to participate in the public participation sessions as per the schedule provided below.
