SCHOOL MILK PROGRAM BENCHMARKING VISIT BY COPAG MOROCCO
We had the privilege to have a courtesy call meeting with the Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim with our guests from Morocco and our development partners from Tetra Pak East Africa to brief him on our School Milk Program benchmarking exercise.
In an effort to foster knowledge transfer and best practices, the COPAG Cooperative Marketing Director shared insights of how the Cooperative has been able to be succesful as the leading Cooperative Society in Morocco. The Cooperative has 24,000 members who produce 1.3 million litres of milk per day for processing. Commending the impressive record, the Governor was impressed and emphasized the need to adopt their successful strategies to enhance and impact the county's cooperatives.
Thereafter the team was able to visit New Kenya Cooperative Creameries Eldoret Factory where we were able to see how the School Milk is received processed and packaged for distribution to the Schools. This showcased the benefits of the program not only to the children but to the farmers as well.
