Maziwa ni School Fees Programme Launched in Tuiyo to Transform Lives Through Dairy Farming

The Maziwa ni School Fees Programme, a transformative initiative spearheaded by the Tuiyo Dairy Cooperative, the County Government of Uasin Gishu, the Kenya Dairy Board (KDB), and the New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (NKCC), was officially launched today in Tuiyo by the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Hon. FCPA Dr. Wycliffe Oparanya. The event marked a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to linking agriculture, education, and community empowerment. Tuiyo Cooperative also received a donation of a solar powered instant chiller from Kenya Dairy Board and Prompt (An Indian based innovative dairy machinery manufacturing company).
The Maziwa ni Fees initiative is designed to revolutionize lives by bridging dairy farming and education, the program leverages visionary policies, innovative farmer training, and steadfast support for cooperatives to empower rural households. Through KDB’s expertise, farmers gain skills to improve milk quality, access stable markets, and convert dairy profits into school fees, ensuring children’s education remains uninterrupted.
